All about our move

Why have we moved? We have moved our shop in Urmston (Flixton Road) into our shop in Lostock (Barton Road). We have achieved this by opening up new floor space at our Lostock shop which has allowed us to move our ponds, pond equipment and aquarium display room downstairs. This left our ground floor available to move our reptiles and pets into our Lostock shop which will make us easily the largest pet centre in the area, possibly one of the largest pet outlets in the Northwest.

Did this have anything to do with the credit crunch? No. Both shops were performing extremely well. The relocation was solely because we needed more floor space to stock new lines and more vivariums/pens to house more reptiles/animals.

Why couldn't you stay in Flixton Road? We looked at other properties on Flixton Road (and the near area) but all the vacant shops were unsuitable - parking restrictions - too small - no loading access etc.

I've not been to your Lostock shop, where is it? Just over a mile from our Flixton Road shop, almost on the motorway roundabout at junction 9 of the M60. Easy to find and very easy to park with its own dedicated car park at the rear.

Here's what we have achieved:

New tank & cabinet display room
We have added a large extension to our shop downstairs which has allowed us to move and expand our tank and cabinet display room. We now have one of the largest tank and cabinet displays in the northwest.

New pond room
We have used half of our new extension to house our new pond room. We now have larger stocks of pond fish, filters, pumps, foods and everything else needed to build and keep a pond.

New rabbit and small animals area
By moving our tanks and cabinets and also our ponds downstairs we have made plenty of room on our ground floor for new stocks. This includes rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and mice etc. We have also created a huge area dedicated to pet foods and accessories - dogs foods, cat foods, rabbits foods, hutches, beddings - just about anything you will need for your pet.

New aquarium plant display system
When we decided to expand our downstairs area, we wanted to include a new aquarium plant system and the system we put in is easily the best around. The system has specialised plant lighting, a controlled pH, florabase substrate for root growth and CO2 injected in the water.

New larger reptile section
We have moved our reptiles from our shop on Flixton Road into our Lostock shop. Our new reptile section is 4 times larger than before and is stocked with everything a reptile keeper would ever need at the lowest prices anywhere.
