Nano Reef-Roids by Polyp Lab 37g

The particle size of Reef Roids is roughly 150-200 microns. This is an ideal size for reef tank inhabitants with smaller mouths such as Goniopora and other filter feeding corals. In our experience feeding Reef Roids at our sister company Tidal Gardens, we noticed that many of the corals in the system initiate a feeding response when the food is introduced. The manufacturer Polyp Lab claims Zoanthids, Mushrooms and Ricordia will demonstrate a distinct feeding response, however we see the feeding response most in large polyp stony (LPS) corals. In particular Blastomussa and Scolymia react almost immediately to Reef Roids. We are currently trying to keep non-photosynthetic filter feeders such as the delicate Carnation coral (Dendronephthya) alive using Reef Roids.

 

Reef Roids is a very fine powder that mixes quickly into water forming a paste-like slurry. The coral food has some weight to it, which is nice because when feeding corals, it is less likely to blow away. 

Unlike many other "coral foods" on the market, Reef Roids is NOT made with processed fish meals or other ingredients that can rapidly degrade water quality. Reef Roids is a mixture of naturally occurring marine planktons including a specific species of zooplankton that is unique to the product.
