Shipping to Ireland

Delivery Charges:

All large items (Aquariums, Cabinet, Terrariums etc.) can only be sent via a pallet delivery service. If so, there will be a pallet delivery charge applied during checkout of between £75-£100 depending on your location and items ordered. Smaller (parcel / packet) items will be sent by Royal Mail for the standard delivery prices (£3.49, or free on orders over £49).

Pallet delivery times:

Delivery is usually 4-7 working days to most of Northern Ireland. In total, we are seeing the average delivery take between 4-7 working days from ordering. Please note that selected day delivery isn't available to Ireland unfortunately, so the pallet will turn up any day Mon - Fri. There must be someone home to meet the driver and sign for the pallet once it arrives, or a note can be left on the door informing the driver to leave with a neighbour on either side of your own house if they are happy to sign for an accept the pallet on your behalf.

Pallets do not have any tracking, after 5 working days (from your despatch email coming through) you can contact the pallet courier directly on +44 1792 464806 and they may be able to provide an idea of delivery timescale, although this isn't always possible. Please note that we won't be able to assist with estimated delivery if you contact us directly, you must liaise with the pallet carrier directly.

Smaller items:

Any items which are smaller (generally under 3KG) and can be sent by Royal Mail, please place your order as normal through our website and the delivery cost will be free on all orders over £49 and £3.49 for orders under £49.

Please note, we aren't able to ship items longer than 58cm to Ireland without a small additional delivery charge of £8 extra, as these can't be sent via Royal Mail and have to be shipped via a more expensive large item courier - One of the team will inform you if this impacts your order and request additional payment before we can despatch it.

Frozen Fish / Dog food:

We are happy to ship frozen fish food to Ireland and currently do for many hundreds of customers a year who struggle to buy these items locally. We will ship all frozen fish food by 2-3 day Royal Mail service which is the quickest available to Northern Ireland.

Although we are happy to ship these items, we do not guarantee they will arrive frozen and do not offer discount, compensation, refunds or re-sends on any items which arrive defrosted - The items are ordered at your own risk. All our frozen fish food is Gamma radiated, so there are no bacteria in the blister packs to spoil the food. If your food arrives defrosted, please place the food into a freezer and leave until full re-frozen before defrosting to use.

We only ship frozen food Monday and Tuesday each week to ensure there is time to deliver this before the weekend. If you order after Tuesday morning, your order will be sent the following Monday.

We do not ship frozen dog food to Ireland as it may cause your dog to become unwell if it consumes re-frozen food that has defrosted during transit - Your order will be cancelled and refunded in full if you order frozen dog food.

Cancelling orders:

On rare occasions we may have to cancel your order and refund you in full if we aren't able to ship your order for an unforeseen circumstance, we will always try to deliver your items and work with you and couriers, through any issues we may face; cancelling an order will be a last resort.

Shipping to Ireland

Unfortunately, due to Brexit, from 1st June 2021 we have to comply with a much larger amount of paperwork to export items via pallet to Ireland (including Northern Ireland) - In order to complete the required export paperwork before your item can be shipped we require you to apply for an XI EORI code through the government website. Once we have your XI EORI code from you, we can complete the commercial invoice which has to accompany your new goods and their pallet out of our warehouse. All order sent by pallet courier are kerbside delivery only so drivers won't unpack or bring items into your house / upstairs / into flats, and they won't take the pallet away - This is the same for all UK pallet deliveries.

Delivery Cost:

Most large items can be sent via a standard pallet, if so, there will be an additional delivery cost of around £100 depending on how remote the courier classes your address. Once you have placed your order, one of the team will be in touch to inform you of the delivery cost and take the additional delivery charge payment over the phone - Please do not place an order for a tank, vivarium, terrarium or anything that can't be sent by small packet courier if you are not happy to pay the additional charge as we will have to cancel your order if you don't pay when asked. Please note that we do not make anything on delivery charges, all additional charges are simply the charges passed onto us by the courier depending on your postcode. Due to the varying amount the delivery charge may be, our checkout will not ask you for any additional payment during checkout, delivery will always be charged after your order via email or phone request.

How to apply for EORI code:

To apply for your GB EORI code (required before you can apply for an XI EORI code) please click here - https://www.gov.uk/eori/apply-for-eori

Pallet delivery times:

Once we have your GB EORI and XI EORI code, it will take us 1-2 working days to complete all export documents. Once these are finalised your pallet can be collected the following working day, delivery is usually then 4-7 working days to most of Ireland. In total we are seeing the average delivery take between 6-9 working days from ordering. Please note that selected day delivery isn't available to Ireland unfortunately so the pallet will turn up any day Mon - Fri.
